Chakra performed really well on my system. Additionally, if you see, the range of RAM usage is between 220-380 MB. In the age of minimum 2 GB RAM, I guess, it may not be that high. So I've tried the latest version of PCLinux OS. So far it has been fine. Recognised my printers, and uploaded the required software. No trouble with Chromium, and easily installed Spotify through Wine. I have Mandriva 2010.2 running on 3 pcs, one is a laptop. I recently installed Mageia 3 64bit from DVD on a desktop pc.
